Enjoy easy hikes through rice fields, cultural discoveries, volcano explorations in Java and Bali, visits to Hindu and Buddhist temples, and relaxing moments by the sea.

Day 1 Welcome to Indonesia
After your international flight, you are welcomed at Denpasar Airport in Bali by your English-speaking driver and transferred to your hotel near the airport, in the pleasant seaside town of Sanur.
Relax—you have arrived on the Island of the Gods, and you are most welcome.
Note: This itinerary can also be adapted if you arrive in Jakarta or Yogyakarta.Transfer: 25 min

Day 2 Heading to Java and the city of sultans
This morning, your driver takes you to the airport for a domestic flight to Yogyakarta, on the island of Java.
Upon arrival, visit Taman Sari, the royal water garden, followed by the Sultan’s Palace. You then head to a little-visited region near the inactive Purba volcano, where a pleasant walk through rice fields and coconut plantations awaits.
You may also hike to the summit of Mount Purba for panoramic views over the region.
In the afternoon, transfer back to your hotel in Yogyakarta for the next nights.Transport: 1h15 flight, 2h30 drive, 3–4h walking

Day 3 Among the sultans
You begin the day heading north to the traditional village of Candirejo for an introduction to gamelan, the traditional Indonesian musical instrument.
After lunch, you visit the majestic Buddhist temple of Borobudur, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Southeast Asia’s most impressive monuments, famous for its stupas and bas-reliefs.
Return to the hotel in the late afternoon for some rest.Transport: 2h30 drive, 2h walking

Day 4 Prambanan and the tea plantations of Solo
After breakfast, you leave for Surakarta (Solo).
On the way, stop at Prambanan to discover this world-renowned Hindu temple complex. Do not hesitate to explore beyond Prambanan to the “1,000 Temples” area, where tranquility and ruins await.
Continue towards the Lawu volcano region to visit the lesser-known temples of Sukuh and Ceto, surrounded by a small Hindu community. A pleasant walk through diverse plantations awaits you, including tea, which you will taste on site.
In the afternoon, arrival in Surakarta (Solo), famous for its textile artisans, especially batik, and for the Sangiran Museum, which houses some of the earliest human fossils discovered on Earth.Transport: 3h, 2h walking

Day 5 Towards the volcanoes
This morning, take a train to Mojokerto to enjoy a calm local journey and scenic landscapes.
Your driver meets you in Mojokerto and takes you to Cemorolawang, a small village located on the edge of the Tengger caldera, home to Mount Bromo (2,329 m). From here, you enjoy stunning views of the Sea of Sand and Mount Bromo, the most sacred volcano of the Tengger Hindu people.
Depending on arrival time, you may stroll around the hotel to admire the caldera scenery.
Note: Accommodations near the volcanoes are simpler than those in the valleys, though still comfortable.Transport: 3h train, 3h15 drive

Day 6 Mount Bromo ascent and journey east
To chase the sunrise, an early start is required!
Before dawn, travel by jeep to Mount Penanjakan (2,775 m) to witness sunrise over the Tengger caldera. As the sun rises, admire Mount Bromo and Mount Batok in the foreground, with the active Semeru volcano (3,600 m) in the background, emitting smoke with each eruption.
Descend by jeep into the Sea of Sand and approach the Bromo crater closely.
Return to the hotel for breakfast, then continue by road to Ketapang.

Day 7 Nature and plantations
A peaceful nature day awaits!
This morning, head to Gombeng Sari Park, where, accompanied by a local guide, you discover the region’s plantations. You will likely meet cooperative workers among rubber, coffee, cocoa, and spice plantations.
Enjoy a 100% local lunch before returning to your hotel in the afternoon, with free time overlooking the strait separating Java from Bali.Transport: 45 min drive, 3h walking

Day 8 Kawah Ijen and the sulfur carriers
Early morning transfer to the starting point of the Kawah Ijen hike. You ascend first through forest paths, then along a traverse trail to reach the crater rim.
You arrive at the famous “green crater” and its acidic lake, discovering its striking colors.
The ascent is planned after sunrise to avoid crowds, but sunrise ascents can be arranged upon request.
Note: A mandatory health check is required the day before (approx. 50,000 IDR / €3 per person, at your expense).
After the hike, return to the hotel for a shower, then take the ferry back to Bali and continue to Pemuteran.Transport: 4h drive, 1h ferry, 3–4h walking

Day 9 Snorkeling and relaxation on Menjangan Island
Get ready for a visual feast!
From Labuan Lalang harbor, board a local boat to Menjangan Island, a protected area rich in coral reefs. Snorkeling session followed by a picnic lunch on the island.
Another curiosity: deer roaming freely on the beach!
Return to Pemuteran in the afternoon. Free evening.Transport: 40 min boat

Day 10 Heading to the mountains
Leave the coast for the mountainous region of Munduk and its sacred lakes.
Visit Bali’s first Buddhist temple, Brahma Vihara, before arriving in Munduk for a hike through plantations, rice fields, and waterfalls.Transport: 2h, 3h walking

Day 11 On the way to Ubud
Travel to Bedugul to visit the spice market and the iconic Ulun Danu temple, dedicated to the water goddess.
Continue to Kintamani and hike down into the Mount Batur caldera along ancient lava flows from the 2000 eruption.
Relax in natural hot springs overlooking the lake before heading to Ubud, Bali’s cultural and artistic capital. On the way, visit a discreet sacred bathing temple used by locals for purification rituals.Transport: 4h drive, 2h walking

Day 12 Between rice fields and the beach
Enjoy Ubud with visits to the royal palace and craft market, followed by the Monkey Forest for a refreshing walk among playful macaques.
Then travel to the UNESCO-listed rice terraces of Jatiluwih. Walk at your own pace through endless green landscapes and observe the meticulous rice cultivation.
End the day in Sanur, a seaside resort.Transport: 3h30 drive

Day 13 One last dance…
Free day for relaxation and leisure in Sanur. Enjoy the beach, restaurants, hotel pool, spas, and massages.

- Cancellation received more than 30 days prior to the departure date: a sum of €50 per person will be retained
- Cancellation received 30 to 21 days before the departure date: your deposit, 30% of the total trip price will be retained
- Cancellation received 20 to 14 days before the departure date: 50% of the total trip price will be retained
- Cancellation received 13 to 7 days before the departure date: 75% of the total trip price will be retained
- Cancellation received less than 7 days before the departure date: 100% of the total trip price will be retained
- Fixed airfares: if your airline ticket was issued in advance, often done to avoid significant surcharges, you will be charged 100% of any non-refundable fees if you wish to change or cancel your flight plan.
- Fixed in-country costs: early charges for firm bookings will be charged if you cancel or modify your trip.
- Insurance costs: if you have taken out comprehensive or cancellation insurance, the cost of insurance is due and cannot be refunded.
